I love Merlin Mann's comment about the Drupal open source content management system on the latest (Episode 55) MacBreak Weekly podcast (skip ahead to 36:40).

"That is a system that would have cost a half a million dollars...The stuff that I am able to build with Drupal that scales and handles the load and does the stuff I am able to do is just mind-blowing."

I couldn't agree more. Look at what Lori has done here using Drupal. This is from one talented designer who has programming experience but who definitely does not consider herself a php developer. Just building on the shoulders of community. Powerful stuff.
