Incredible Online Presentations and Lectures
I am updating our presentation from last year's Internet Safety Parent Forum for a another forum to take place soon. Our approach has been to balance concerns about Internet safety with how important the Internet will continue to be in the future. One of the topics I will be covering is the life-long learning opportunities the Internet provides.
Here are some of the online learning resources I am referring in the presentation:
- Research Channel - provides a large number of high-quality lectures from leading thinkers. I recently found this site but plan on watching Geoffrey Moore, Tom Brokaw, and John Henry Clippinger.
- TED (Technology, Entertainment, and Design) - Videos of presentations given at this incredible annual conference. On the site you will find presentations from Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and Malcolm Gladwell. My favorites so far have been from Hans Rosling, Blaise Aguera y Arcas, and Steven Johnson.
- Many conferences now publish the slides and videos of keynote presentations. For example, check out the keynotes from the Enterprise 2.0 Conference (David Weinberger and Don Tapscott are terrific) and past years' Interop (Ross Mayfield and Andrew McAfee from the 2006 conference are really good).
